Today I have planned to hit you up with a small idea that’s worth real big.
The topic is quite common and is the need of the day for every blogger – getting blog post ideas!
Starting a blog is one side of the story. Keeping it up with fresh content is the challenge.
In fact, it is one of the strongest challenges for many bloggers.
When you start a blog, and when our enthusiasm is at its peak, writing 10 blog posts a week would feel like a breeze.
But then, later on things start to fade away! That is when you struggle to create content.
You struggle to keep your site updated with fresh content which very crucial for your blogging success.
There are two things that stand as obstacles when you want to create content for your blog.
- Having to come up with blog post ideas, on a regular basis.
- Having to make/create content based on those ideas.
To help you with 2, I have created a course – I strongly suggest you to check it out!
The course also covers “coming up with blog post ideas”. But in this blog post I want to share a few more tips with you on this topic.
I am pretty sure you would have come up with a lot of blog posts that have talked about this – How to find blog post ideas?
And yes, you would have read a lot of useful tips.
In this blog post I would like to share 3 less used ways – 3 ways that are not much talked about and not much used – in which you can get TONS of blog post ideas.
Everyone wants MORE traffic isn’t? If you are into finding ways to improve your blog traffic, you need to create awesome content for your blog on a regular basis.
A gentle reminder once more to check out my course which will help you create killer content for your blog.
Now let’s move on to the tips.
Google related search
I am sure you use Google for a lot of things on a regular basis. Especially, as a blogger, you totally rely on Google, don’t you?
Whenever you type in your keyword to search for something, you browse through the search results.
Have you taken note of the related search results? Here, take a look!
The image above shows the Google related search suggestions shown when I search for “blogging tips”.
As you can see the suggestions themselves for see keywords for more blog post topics.
Here’s how to use it.
Do a search for your main keyword. Scroll down to see the Google’s related search suggestions for that keyword.
Take note of them.
You can further perform search on each of those keywords to expand your list of ideas.
List posts
List posts are one of the easy kind to create. Most bloggers prefer to publish list posts for this very reason.
However list posts are also overrated. There are too many low quality lists posts – published for the sake of it.
If you want help on how to create a good quality list post quickly, this post will help!
Nevertheless, good quality list posts can serve as idea machines for you.
Type in your “top 10 {keyword}” in Google (without the quotes and brackets of course).
Top 10 was just an example. You can use anything related to that.
“Best ways”, “10 Tips” etc. are a few other examples.
Now you will get a few results that are list posts on topics related to the keyword you typed in.
Feel free to click on each of them. If you take any one of that blog post into account, each list item in that blog post can be a separate blog post that you can write and publish on your blog.
You can keep on hunting for more and more list posts until you get enough blog post ideas.
Udemy
Yes you read that right. Now you are thinking: How in the world is Udemy (an online course site) going to help me get blog post ideas?
I’ll show you how. Just go to Udemy, and type in your keyword.
You will now be presented with the list of courses that are available, related to your keyword.
Click on the courses that have very good ratings. And browse through the course curriculum.
Bingo! You can get about 10 blog post ideas from each of these courses.
Getting blog post ideas doesn’t have to be challenging
I know its hard. Especially after the few initial days.
You get stuck. You don’t know what to write about.
And so you Google about it and get 100s of tips on how to get blog post ideas.
Some of those tips are vast, some are very common (you’ve tried and are saturated), some are impractical.
In this blog post I have shared 3 less used (not-so-common) ways to get lots of blog post ideas on a regular basis.
Just rinse and repeat.
Once you are done with getting blog post ideas, you need to create awesome content for your blog on a regular basis. Check out my course on content creation for help on this.

Hello Jane,
Very informative post over here 🙂
Thats the problem almost every fresher crosses path with. At a certain point, people get over with the ideas to write their
content, they lack the fresh ideas which can help them drag more and more traffic to their blog post and that’s where the
pin point in their blogging carrier plays an important role.
There are many sources which can help us find some refreshing ideas on which we can compose our content.
Good names over here which can help us to get some quick ideas about our content. I love to turn out the magazines, there
are also lot of ideas which are feeded into that.
Thanks for the share.
Shantanu.

Hey Shantanu,
Glad you liked the post! Yes it is quite common to get done with the ideas and then starve for ideas. Nowadays we have so many sources to turn into – but that might turn into a time consuming and exhausting task.
Which is why I stick to these!
Yes, magazines are a great source of inspiration – thanks for adding!
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers,
Jane.

Hi Jane,
Great tips and I have done a few list posts on my blog. I can definitely say they are popular.
I’ve never thought about using Udemy to help me come up with ideas for my list post. But the way that you illustrated it, I can definitely see how that would make sense to get some ideas from there.
Next time I sit down to write a list post, I may have to use this strategy to help me come up with some out of the box ideas.
Thanks for sharing these tips with us.
Have a great day 🙂
Susan

I take a reference to Google’s related search and create a list post. However, Udemy is a worthful idea for a blogger like me who is blogging about Tech Stuffs and especially gadgets’ accessories.
If you have any idea for a blog like I have, then I request to share.
And I guess comment from readers like me and raising a question is also a less used and good way to find a topic idea.
Jane says
Hey George,
Yes Udemy works great. And thanks for the additional tip! Sure questions from readers is goldmine!
Cheers,
Jane.
