Setting up a blogging website is not a big of a deal. If you have certain ideas for content and have the basic knowledge of opening a WordPress or Blogger account, you are good to go.
However, the most challenging part of running a blogging website is getting a quality readership.
Unless you start gaining a significant amount of visitors on your page, you are not going to make a single penny out of it.
If you are wondering whether it is possible for anyone to earn from the blogs, let’s clear it once and for all – yes, it is.
However, it requires a significant amount of efforts. You will find several ways to monetize. In fact, we are going to discuss some of them in this blog post as well.
Google AdSense
This is perhaps the simplest to make money from your blogging site. Even a layman can introduce this feature in his/her website and start earning money.
Basically, it allows you to feature third-party advertisements on your website, and every time a visitor consumes the ad, you receive a certain amount of money in return.
The earnings from Google AdSense usually generate in two different ways – the first one is based on the impression or the page views, while the second one depends on the number of clicks on the ads.
In the second option, you are actually earning a certain cut of the ad revenue which can be anywhere between $0.01 and $2, depending on the ad.
Sponsorships
When you start generating a decent amount of traffic for your website, you may start receiving sponsorships from various businesses. The initiative is usually taken by the sponsors themselves.
So all you need to do is to wait for them to approach you. There are several ways to generate money from the sponsors.
- Paid reviews: In this form of sponsorship, the business usually sends you a product and asks you to write a review about it. However, they are only going to pay you for the positive reviews that glorify their product.
- Sponsored posts: There’s another form of sponsorship that demands backlinking on your website. It is considered ethical since you are revealing the identity of your sponsors to the readers.
- Banner ads: As the name gives away, this form of sponsorship asks you to put ads in “banner” style. In fact, the businesses can pay you monthly, just to keep the banners up for another month.
eBooks
If you pen down a book or share in the revenue of a book, journal, magazine or something similar to this, you can put their digital version on your blogging website and earn some significant revenues every time someone purchases your eBook.
This may not be the most widely preferred way of making revenues through your blog, but a significant number of people consider this as a viable option.
If someone loves your writing, they may find your other works fascinating as well.
So that way, selling your eBooks alongside the blogs can be a nice way to earn some quick cash.
Paid tutorials
If you are getting a significant amount of visitors on your website on a regular basis, it means you have gained a loyal fanbase on the internet.
In that case, earning revenue from the website won’t be too difficult.
Since online coaching has become quite popular in the market, you can also start selling a few tutorials through your blog.
In today’s busy lifestyle, no one has the time to physically join a class to learn a lesson or a certain skill.
For this reason, online tutorials and coaching classes are gaining popularity in today’s date.
Analyze you’re your readers and see what kind of tutorials you can sell to them. However, you may need to ensure that the tutorials add value to the consumers.
If your tutorials fail to achieve that, you may lose some loyal readers from your website.
Consultation
In the similar lines of paid tutorials, you can also earn revenue by providing useful consultation to your clients.
First, you need to gain a significant amount of traffic that will ensure you have a certain reach on the internet.
When you are able to achieve that, you can introduce special sessions for consultation on a topic that you excel at.
You can get connected with the clients using video conferencing tools like Skype or Google’s Hangout. This way, you can provide them with the consultation they require.
You can charge each and every session based on the kind of consultation a client needs.
This will add value to your website content. It will also help you earn some significant amount of revenue every week.
Affiliate marketing
Now, this is another common form of marketing that is used by the bloggers to make money from their websites.
The inexperienced bloggers who are just starting out use this particular method to monetize their blogs.
In this form of marketing, you only need to create content that is in harmony with the products or services you are promoting.
Every time a visitor clicks on the product link on your website and make a purchase, you receive a certain portion of the profit.
However, there are a few things you need to consider before engaging in affiliate marketing:
- Choose the products that go well with the theme of your blogging website.
- Select the products for a promotion that you have personally used. It improves your credibility among the readers.
- Also, put a disclaimer on your site, so that the readers never feel like they are being misled.
There are multiple affiliate programs that you can start with. However, it is recommended that you use the popular ones.
Once you start receiving enough traffic, you can approach the service providers of your choice to promote their services or products in your blog.
It is not unethical to make money from your blogs. However, Google is vigilant about all the unethical practices that take place on the internet.
As a matter of fact, Google can even penalize you and block your monetary function if it finds any suspicious activity on your blogs.
So be very careful while choosing the monetary options and learn about the legalities associated with them.

Hey Arif, great tips.
When it comes to making money from blogging, affiliate marketing is the best monetization strategy no matter what industry you are in. The only drawback of using affiliate marketing to monetize your sites is it takes a ton of time (especially if you are a newbie) to make sales.
The size of your audience will either improve or decrease your chances of your affiliate product sales. You also need to keep an eye on your website traffic metrics because search engine traffic is the most effective way to bring qualified traffic to improve your affiliate sales.
You need to focus on finding buyer keywords with less keyword search volume if you really want to attract high quality visitors from search engines like Google. Consultation is another great way to monetize your blog if you are an expert in your field.
If you’re just a beginner with no skills, there’s actually no point of providing consultation services as no one will be interested in getting consulting from newbies. So the key is to become a go to guy in your niche to make money from blog consulting.
Thanks Jane for publishing the guest post, keep up the great work guys!

Another one: I have actually fallen in love with subscription services (in other words, a membership site). If you can provide something substantial, then you’ve got yourself a service.
But in the end, adapting one or two things simultaneously works best (sell affiliate products to free users, and the remaining revenue comes from membership members, for example).
Thanks!
